Description: | Scale: 1:12. Full hull model of the 'Peaceful' (1900), a Scottish sgoth, built plank on frame. The single mast is rigged, with the sails set. The hull is painted white, green and black with the name ?SY 31 Peaceful? on the port and starboard bows and ?SY 31? on the sails.
This large open clinker-built boat, with a markedly raked stern post, was renowned for its fine sea-keeping abilities. Known locally as ?Scoth niseach? or ?ness skiff?, it was used around the Scottish coast for line and net fishing.
