Description: | Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the torpedo gunboat HMS Halcyon (1894), made entirely in wood and painted pink-brown below the waterline and black above. Hull details include two rows of portholes fore and aft; hawse hole; long foredeck and aft deck; and two rudders, the foremost one being small and rectangular, the aft rudder being a conventional balanced type. The majority of the deck details are painted cream including stump foremast and mainmast, ventilators, two tall funnels; and small deckhouse on the foredeck with entry port and windows. There is a small gun on the aft deck. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame. Inscribed on a plaque attached to the top right-hand side of the backboard is ?Halcyon?.
