Description: | This work depicts several details from a State barge, all drawn on one sheet.
On the left are two sketches of the stern bearing the monogram RWMR, which is drawn much larger above. There is a detail of a rowlock.
On the right, there are two sketches of the stern. The top is marked with the inscription: ?root?. A strake is inscribed ?een ganck? and below the rubbing strakes is the inscription ?akrevel Werk?, which may translate as ?carvel-built?. There is a sketch of the stern of another barge decorated with a foul anchor and inscribed ?al geel? (all yellow) on the far left. Furthermore, the sheet shows a sketch of a rowlock with a Garter star below it. At the very bottom of the sheet is a sketch of the whole barge viewed from before the port beam.
It is an offset which has been rubbed on the back, with some inscriptions and slight touches made in brown ink. It has been approximately dated to 1690 by its subject.
