Description: | W.V.V.J.
Possibly the portrait of the ?Hollandia?, viewed from the starboard quarter. On the tafferel is a large lion rampant guardant between two wreaths. On the rail above are the arms of Amsterdam (three saltires on a pale) between dolphins. Lions? heads are on the counter.
It is possibly an Indiaman, since no record has been found of a 40-gun Amsterdam ship in the Dutch Navy likely to have had a lion on her tafferel. It is based on an offset, but not in reverse.
