Dollond / London
This achromatic telescope has a wooden barrel and three brass draw tubes. The other brass fittings include a pivoted eyepiece cover, although the objective lens cap is now missing. There is also a leather case with a carrying strap, although this appears to be of a later date. The maker's name is inscribed on the draw tube as 'Dollond / London'. The telescope is said to have belonged to Lieutenant James Everard RN (1796-1825).
