Description: | Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the armoured cruiser HMS Duke of Edinburgh (1904), made entirely in wood and painted pink-brown below the waterline and black above the waterline. Hull features include a ram bow; two rows of portholes; starboard bilge keel; two starboard hawse holes; and a balanced rudder (currently missing). Other features and fittings include a long fore deck with a gun mounted on it, the barrel painted black and the turret off-white and bridge; stump foremast; four funnels inline, all painted ochre, mounted on off-white superstructures; five guns on the starboard side amidships all with white-painted turrets and black barrels; stump mainmast atop a superstructure; and a single gun aft, the barrel painted black, identical to the forward gun. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame. On plaque attached to top right-hand side of backboard ?Minotaur?.
