Description: | Medal commemorating the International Congress of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers. Obverse: Shield bearing the device of a sea creature (a Nautilus) floating on waves, behind a rayed sun rising from the sea; the shield is surmounted by a naval crown and trident head, and supported by two dolphins with oak sprays above them. Reverse: Tablet inscription, surmounted by the three feathers and ribbon bearing the motto of the Prince of Wales 'ICH DIEN'. Beneath, rose, thistle and shamrock sprays. Inscription: 'INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF NAVAL ARCHITECTS & MARINE ENGINEERS . 1897.'
