Description: | A Dutch flagship under easy sail. This is a near view part of a large drawing, showing a starboard quarter view of a ship with flag and pendant at the main, probably the ?Eendracht?. Her fore topsail is set and the mizzen topsail is aback. Her decks are crowded with people. She is firing a salute with her quarterdeck guns.
This drawing is identified by its subject and watermark as belonging to the time when Van de Velde was with the Dutch fleet assembled near Goeree. The most important drawing of the series are in the Boymans-van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam. The artist joined the fleet on 27 August [OS]/ 6 September 1664 and the fleet dispersed 21 November [OS]/1 December.
