Description: | Portrait of a frigate of the Amsterdam Admiralty, viewed from the starboard bow, mounting a broadside of ten guns on the gundeck, two forward and three aft on the upper deck, and two on the quarterdeck. At the break of the last are two shields; on the starboard of a lion rampant and to port crossed anchors (for Amsterdam). On the taffrail are two figures supporting a shield with dolphins on either quarter. There is a lion figurehead, ensign on a staff and the suggestion of lower masts only.
One of a similar group of seven drawings classed together by Robinson, executed in light pencil and wash and probably based on an offset, but not in reverse. The work has been dated by the watermark and subject.
