Description: | ?W.V.V.J.?
?portsmout? [crossed out] ?1677/ 1677 d Jarmout?
The ?Yarmouth? viewed from before the port beam. The ship appears to have square decorated ports on the upper deck and small wreathed ports on the quarterdeck. On the broadside it mounts thirteen guns on the gun deck, twelve on the upper deck and four on the quarterdeck.
The drawing began as a faint offset, rubbed on the back, but rapidly and accurately worked up with pencil. It is signed ?W.V.V.J.? and inscribed ?portsmout? [crossed out] ?1677/ 1677 d Jarmout?.
