Description: | A copy sent to Portsmouth 25th Nov'r 1801 for the Boyne / A copy sent to Plymouth 25th Nov'r 1801 for the Union. / N. B. Pr Admiralty Order 6th Jan'y 1812. The Plymouth Officers were directed to build the London with a Round Bow and the Portsmouth Officers to Build the Princess Charlotte.
Memo. The London & Princess Charlotte were alter'd pr Admiralty Order 19 June 1813 to which the Alterations in Red refer.
N.B. The Lower Dk to be straiten'd 6 inches, keeping the original height at the stem & stern Post and the sheer &c to be rais'd in the same proportion, as describ'd in Midhips in tick'd lines. To have only one false Keel of 5in thick, pr Board's Warrant to Portsmouth & Plymouth of `7 April 1807.
Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines, and longitudinal half-breadth for 'Boyne' (1810), and later for 'Union' (1811), both 98-gun Second Rate, three-deckers. The plan records alterations in 1807 to the lower deck line.
The plan was later altered and ordered to be used for building 'Royal Adelaide' [under her original name of 'London'] (1828) and 'Princess Charlotte' (1825), prior to the order to increase their breadth and length. They were eventually launched as 110-gun First Rate, three-decker.
