Description: | This print shows one of John Paul Jones?s most famous exploits. Jones undertook a series of audacious raids along the British coast. On 23 September 1779, while commanding the frigate ?Bonhomme Richard?, Jones boarded and captured the British warship ?Serapis? during an attack on a Baltic convoy. The captain of the ?Serapis? was knighted for allowing the convoy to escape.
