Description: | Scale: 1:48. A half block model of the starboard side of the second class cruiser HMS 'Challenger (1902), made entirely in wood and painted pink-brown below the waterline, a narrow white stripe above, black above the waterline. Hull features include a ram bow; three rows of portholes; starboard bilge keel and hawse hole; and a balanced rudder. Other features and fittings include a long fore deck with a gun mounted, painted black; stump foremast and mainmast; and three stump funnels painted ochre on grey housings. The model is displayed on a backboard painted off-white with a mahogany-stained frame. On plaque attached to top right-hand side of backboard ?Challenger?.
