Description: | Scale: 1:48. A half block model of a single screw steamer passenger cargo ship. The model is made entirely from wood and constructed in bread and butter fashion with the hull finished in natural wood and varnished below the waterline. The upperworks to the bulwarks are painted black. The black portion of the hull has the remains of carved decoration at bow and stern. The lower part of the hull is fitted with a rudder, mounted on a stern frame, with an aperture for the screw propeller (not fitted). The model is fitted with three wooden laid decks, the planks of which have been marked on in black ink and are finished in natural wood and varnish (dark and dirty). Fixtures and fittings include three stump masts and a single truncated funnel, three deckhouses and sky lights, five cargo hatches painted black. The bridge deck, amidships and quarterdeck are finished with a rounded edge and painted creamy white. The whole model is mounted on a wooden backboard with a moulded edge, all of which is painted black.
