Description: | Print entitled 'The ''Barham'' East Indiaman, 1200 Tons'. The ship was built in London in 1846, probably by Green's. Here she flies their post-1843 Blackwall line house flag at the main and is seen heading up-Channel off Dover, amid other shipping. There is an element of narrative in that she has let her forecourse sheets fly and has her main course brailed up, with her gangway open, as she communicates with the boat on the left - possibly bringing the woman aboard who seems to be seated in the bows.
