Description: | Port-quarter view of the ?Overijssel?, 30 guns, built 1650, obsolete 1686. On the tafferel are the old arms of Overijssel and on the rail above, the arms of Amsterdam between two dolphins. There are two shields on the counter, on the port side a lion rampant and on the starboard side are crossed anchors representing the Admiralty of Amsterdam.
This is one of seven drawings accurately carried out in light pencil and wash. It is probably based on an offset but so far as can be seen, not in reverse. It is approximately dated by the watermarks and subjects.
