Description: | Portrait of the ?James Galley?, 30 guns, fourth and later fifth rate. She was built in 1676 and wrecked in 1694. She is viewed from the starboard bow. A Union jack is at the top of the ensign staff.
It was probably based on an offset, carefully and accurately worked up with pencil and wash.
