Description: | Pocket watch in silver pair case. Full-plate movement without fusee, signed and numbered, with dead-beat verge escapement and steel balance.
The watch has a white enamel dial, badly damaged, with Roman numerals. The hands are missing. The watch is contained in a silver pair case, with the inner case joint incomplete. Both cases are hallmarked for Chester, 1800, casemaker ?NL?, possibly Nicholas Lee.
AQN: Foulkes, R K (owner). Both cases bear Chester assay mark and letter D (for 1800) and case-maker's mark 'NL' (Nicholas Lee?). Silver pair-cased pocket watch. Full-plate movement without fusee, mainspring enclosed in standing barrel. Dead-beat verge escapement, the verge offset in relation to the crown-wheel. Hands lacking.
