Armillary sphere. The primary sphere consists of three rings. In the centre there is a terrestrial globe that shows the contours of lands and seas. The prime meridian is labelled 'meridien'. The tropics are labelled 'Tropique Cancer' and 'Tropique Capricorn'. Ecliptic finely engraved with months of the year and zodiac symbols in French. Moveable planetary rings for Saturn, Jupiter Mars, Venus and Mercury named and with symbols. Sun in the centre.
