Description: | A black lacquered, wood carved album with gold painting pearly storks, held in a foral design wooden box.
The album contains 83 photographs which are glued in, and is the work of Midshipman Francis S. Drake Esdaile 1883-7/7/1900, who died of wounds received at Tientsin during the Boxer Rebellion.
Locations included are:Suez circa 1897, Hong Kong, Wei-Hai-Wei, Amoy, and Japanese ports including Kobe, Yokohama, Nagasaki and Tsugaru.
