Description: | Scale: 1:48. A block design model of the ?Elizabeth? (1737), a 70-gun, two-decker ship of the line.
The ?Elizabeth? was built to the 1733 Establishment. These vessels were built originally as 70s, but were later reclassified as 64-guns. They were 151 feet long and 43� feet wide. They carried 480 men, and weighed 1224 tons burden. In their original form they carried twenty-six 24-pound guns on their gun decks, twenty-six 12-pounders on their upper decks, fourteen 6-pounders on their quarterdecks and four 6-pounders on their forecastles.
It was launched in November 1737, and was stationed mostly in the Mediterranean until the mid-1740s until it joined Anson off Finisterre. Throughout the Seven Years War, the ?Elizabeth? was stationed in the East Indies and saw action off Negapatum, Cuddalore and Pondicherry by 1763. It remained in service until 1766, when it was broken up.
