Description: | Submarine cable. Short section of cable bound recently at both ends with wire. The core consists of seven copper wires insulated with gutta percha and a layer of hemp strands. The outer sheathing consists of ten iron wires.
This is the entire object accessioned by the Weapons and Antiquities department in 1983 (and passed temporarily to the Archaeology Research Centre for conservation). It is still stored with the Archaeological samples. To avoid confusion it should be moved to share space with antiquities / relics (2015-01-22)
