Description: | Scale: 1:48. Full hull model of the HMS Nimrod (1828), a 20 gun sixth rate sloop. Sailor's work. Model is decked, equipped and rigged. Plaque inscribed "HMS "NIMROD" SLOOP 18 GUNS, BUILT AT DEPTFORD 1828 THIS MODEL WAS MADE ON BOARD THE "NIMROD" AND PRESENTED TO THE LATE VICE ADMIRAL JAMES RICHARD DACRES, COMMANDER IN CHIEF CAPE OF GOOD HOPE STATION 1845-48 IN MEMORY OF HIS SON JAMES, R DACRES WHO DIED WHILE IN COMMAND OF THE SHIP AT MOZAMBIQUE February 1848 BOATSWAIN JOHN CROCKER CARPENTER EDMUND RIDER PRESENTED TO GREENWICH HOSPITAL BY THE EXECUTORS OF THE LATE MISS LOUIS DACRES, DAUGHTER OF THE LATE ADMIRAL IN 1911".
