Description: | In the centre is a port quarter view of the ?Tiger? before the wind under topsails. On her port beam is the ?Kitchen? under Captain Crow (kroo) brailing up her mainsail. In the left background, the ?Cleveland? (? kleveland) is close-hauled on the starboard tack. On the right, the ?Mary? (maerij), the ?Anne? (anne) and other yachts are beating windward.
The drawing is numbered ?45?.
This is an unsigned pencil and wash drawing by the Elder.
Van de Velde made a large series of drawings of the royal visit to the ?Tiger? and the subsequent passage down the Thames to Sheerness and Chatham.
