Description: | ?W.V.V.J?
An English two-deck viewed from forward of the port beam, the ship has wreathed ports and a lion figurehead. It is probably one of the twenty 70-gun ships built as a result of the Defence Act of 1677. On the broadside it carries thirteen guns each on the gun deck and upper deck, three on the forecastle, six on the quarterdeck and two on the poop.
A rapid but accurate drawing, not rubbed on the back but probably a weak offset a little worked up with pencil. Signed in brown ink ?W.V.V.J?.
Box Title: Ingram. Van de Velde.
