nota
The Dutch fleet at anchor. On the left is the stern view of a ship with flag at the main and pendant at the fore firing a gun; a Dutch jack at the mizzen peak and probably the Zeeland ensign at the stern. On her starboard bow is a port quarter view of the commander-in-chief?s ship firing a gun and loosing her courses. In the centre is the bow view of a ship under way. On the right are two vice-admirals.
It is inscribed with notes by the Younger in brown ink. The flag of the ship on the left has been put higher with the word ?nota?. The horizon on the right is indicated ?nota opt gevolgh?.
Rapid strengthenings and corrections to improve the perspective have been made by the Younger in brown ink and his signature ?W.V.V.J.? has been added in the bottom right corner.
