Description: | The 'Wassenaer' belonged to the Maas Admiralty. She was built in 1666 and wrecked in1681.
The ship is viewed from the starboard quarter. On the tafferel there is a quartered arms with an escutcheon, dexter supporter a dragon, sinister supporter a lion. Close above the arms is the date 1666. On the rail above the tafferel and also below the stern windows there is a lion rampant on crossed anchors, the badge of the Admiralty of the Maas. There is a drawing of the detail of the tafferel in the NMM?s collection. (PAF6557). The drawing is unsigned.
