Description: | J. Marke fecit
Fitted with sights and plumb bob.
On the face is engraved a table of 5 stars: Ala Pegasi, Arcturus, Cor Leonis, Oculus Tarui and Cor Vulturis.
Below is a circular scale of month and the projection, marked with the positions of the five stars.
The scales on the circumference, 0-9 and 1-20, and a latitude scale 0-90.
This is a horary quadrant marked with Gunter scales, and is very unusual in not carrying a declination scale. The bead is set either by the date scale or by the ecliptic, rather than by the solar declination. Another uncommon feature is the listing of the declinations of the five stars inscribed on the quadrant, rather than their right ascensions. The reverse is blank and has therefore not been photographed.
