Sweetheart's charm in the shape of a service dress cap containing a photograph of James (Jim) Woodards, an LGOC bus driver who joined the ASC (Army Service Corps) during WW1 and served in the 319th Motor Transport Company, driving lorries in France. The photograph depicts Woodards's face and is set inside the cap. The cap has a loop which would presumably have permitted a chain to be attached to the cap so that it could be worn as a pendant.

Greater London
Following the outbreak of the First World War, bus driver James Woodards joined the Army Service Corps and was posted to France to drive troops to and from battle. He left behind his wife Solange and his newborn baby son.
This sweetheart charm in shape of a service dress cap belonged to Solange. Inside is tiny photograph of James. A chain can be threaded through the loop in the cap so that the charm can be worn as a pendant.
Woodards, who worked for the London General Omnibus Company (L.G.O.C.), served in the 319th Motor Transport Company. He was awarded the Military Medal, the 1914/15 Star, the British War Medal, and the Allied Victory Medal.
