Description: | 1914 - 15 Star, issued to Private James (Jim) Woodard of the 319th Motor Transport Company, ASC (Army Service Corps). Mr Woodard, in civilian life a LGOC bus driver, drove a lorry on the Western Front 1915-1918, where he won the Military Medal. The 1914 - 15 Star was issued to all those who had served either on land or sea against Germany and its allies between 4 August 1914 and 31 December 1915. The medal was instituted in December 1918. Note that the citation on the rear of the medal refers in error to 'Pte T Woodards'.
