Description: | 1670-1684. Charles II (1660-1685) milled silver threepence. Length 17.2mm, Width 16.8mm, Thickness 0.75mm, Diameter 17.2mm, Weight 1.4g. Obverse: Draped, laureate bust right. Inscription: CAROLVS.II DEI GR(ATI)A. Reverse: Crowned three interlinked C's. Inscription: Illegible. Mint: London. Die axis: 180 deg. or 6 o'clock. The coin has a drilled hole in front of the bust - probably used to suspend the coin as a pendant, possibly as a 'touch piece' lucky charm or from jewellery, a bracelet or similar. Very worn with silver/grey patina but some surface tarnish. Ref. Coins of England and the UK, Spink 2009, page 321 No. 3386.
