Description: | A copper-alloy coin of George III. Both surfaces of the coin are very worn. Obverse legend reads GEORGIUS I[II] . D.G.REX, with Lauriate bust right. The reverse legend reads [BRIT]ANNIA FA with the half worn away date of probably 1797 below. The centre of the reverse shows a seated left facing Britannia. The legends are incuse on raised rim. Die axis is 6 o'clock. The coin has a diameter of 35.83mm, and is 3.21mm thick, it weighs 26.21g.The coin is likely to be either a Twopence or Penny.
