Description: | A small medieval silver-gilt annular brooch, inscribed on both sides. The inscription on one side reads 'A M I : A M E S[?] A M I E : A V E'. The inscription on the other side is difficult to decipher, and the meaning is unclear, but may have been amatory. The frame has a constriction for the pin. The pin survives although the end is broken.Dimensions:Diameter: 16mm..The find therefore qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of both age and precious metal content and should go forward to inquest.
