Description: | A silver hammered cut-half voided long cross penny possibly of Henry III, 1216-1272 (with this coin minted between 1247-1272 if the monarch is correctly identified). The obverse would have shown a forward facing crowned head but all that is now visible is a faint hint of the two curls of hair to the right of the flan. Obverse legend reads [...]IC[...] with the letter I above the top curl of hair positioned at about 2 o'clock. The reverse shows a voided long cross with three pellets per quarter. Reverse legend seems to read [N]IC/[.../.../...] and is likely to have read NIC/OLE/ON?/[...]. Die axis is probably 9 o'clock, weight is 0.65g, diameter is 19.23mm, thickness is 0.70mm.
