Description: | A lead alloy sub spherical object, originally recorded as a polyhedral weight of early medieval date, AD 800-1000, but now thought to be a piece of Post Medieval buckshot. The object is roughly globular and is marked with four flat, circular faces. It is 5.5mm in diameter and weighs 0.8gm.Compare SWYOR-E809B3.Though originally recorded as a polyhedral weight, the number of similar finds raises the possibility that these are pellets fired from a gun, similar to grape shot but smaller, and of Post Medieval date. Compare examples of buckshot in Harding (2012) "Lead Shot of the English Civil War", for example, Plate 21.
