Description: | A incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval buckle frame. Only the pin rest of the frame survives. The design of the whole buckle would have been D-shaped with an expanded outer lip with separate roller. This expanded outer lip with additional roller, which forms the pin rest, is all that survives. Due to corrosion the roller no longer rotates. The roller is cylindrical with a central groove running around the circumference. For a more complete example please see LIN-DE3D60 (http://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/476148).Dated c.1250-1400.
