Description: | A complete silver penny of Elizabeth I dating to the period 1558-1603.The obverse depicts a Tudor rose in the field with a crown above it. There is a worn area above the crown which obscures part of the legend which otherwise reads I D G ROSA SINE SPINA.The reverse depicts a thistle in the field with a crown above. The reverse is much more worn than the obverse and is more crude. Most of the legend is obscured but it is possible to see the letter IVI at the 2 o'clock position. There is a coronet as an initial mark.
