Description: | An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy circular pendant seal matrix (1200-1400).The majority of the suspension loop is missing.The handle is hexagonal in cross-section and tapers to the suspension loop. Viewing an impression, the engraved die has a two headed-animal with two legs and a sinuous tail all within an inner beaded circle. One head facing left is elongated and the other, facing right, appears to be human. The inscription is unclear.The seal matrix has a green patina with some areas of corrosion on the handle and suspension loop. The die is corroded and the handle is not worn.Height: 16.48mm; diameter; 16.55mm. Weight: 5.64g.
