Description: | A cast copper alloy finger ring dating to the Medieval period, (AD 1100-1500). The object has a circular hoop which widens and thickens slightly at the shoulders. The bezel is flat and shield-shaped in form with two semi-circular notches, or cusps, at one side. The object has a dark green patina and is in good condition.A gold example which is similar in form has been recorded on the database as Reavill, P (2011) HESH-9C17D7 A MEDIEVAL FINGER RING Webpage available at: http://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/435010 and has been dated from c.AD1200-1400.
