Description: | A cast lead alloy unidentified object of probable Medieval or post-Medieval date. The object is cylindrical in form with a rounded base and is hollow. Either side of the object are two attached 'strap handles' which continue above the mouth of the object. The mouth of the object is incomplete. At the base of the object is a small circular hole with an internal diameter of 2.50mm. Each face of the object is worn and there is no visible decoration. Although bearing some resemblance to a toy tankard, the hole in the base would seem to preclude this identification. Another possibility is that it is part of a toy cannon or a toy vase. A similar example which can be found on the database is Watters, J (2012) BH-4FF1A5 A POST MEDIEVAL TOY Webpage available at: http://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/501720.
