Description: | Ration books were introduced during World War 2 (1939-1945) to control access to some foods because of shortages. Meats, eggs, fats, cheese, bacon and sugar are listed in the book. This ration book, owned by M.L. Turnbull of Newcastle, shows that they were still in use almost 10 years after the end of the war.
