inscription, 1914 1918
A British War Medal, 1914-1918, issued in the reign of King George V. The medal is on a straight clasp with a ribbon which is orange (centre), white, black and blue (striped on either side). The reverse shows St. George on horseback trampling a shield and skull (representing the Central Powers and death) and above is the risen sun of victory. Awarded to Spr. J. Sharp, R.E. (Royal Engineers).
