Description: | Pair of tall gold candles, designed to fit into candle sticks or a candelabra. Unused and unpackaged. Part of a traditional Iranian/Persian wedding ceremony floor spread. In Persian weddings ceremonies, lit candles symbolise enlightenment, happiness and brightness of future for the newlyweds. Two candelabras representing the bride and groom are placed on either side of a mirror (the 'mirror of fate') on the ceremonial wedding spread ('sofreh aghd'). The mirror and candelabras symbolise light and fire in the Zoroastrian faith/culture. Zoroastrianism is the first monotheistic religion, founded in Persia in the 6th century BC.
