A commemorative mug celebrating the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953. A sepia head and shoulders portrait of the Queen is flanked by flags and surmounted by the Royal Coat of Arms. The Royal cypher, 'EIIR', appears on the opposite side. Owned by the donor's late parents Henry (Harry) Smith and Dulcie Smith (née Lawson) of South Shields.
