Description: | Thrusting sword (Yataghan). A heavy, single-edged blade with a slight forward curve. The blade is widest at the point of percussion and then tapers to a sharp point. A deep groove runs down each side of the blade close to the back. The hilt is made of wood. It is one-sided and resembles a knuckle-bone (see 0.9593). The scabbard is made of wood covered with black leather. The chape is a stylised animal head.
