Description: | A two-handed sword and scabbard. The blade is single-edged, heavy, has a sharp point, and curves slightly backward. The long, round wooden hilt is covered with sheet silver, copper and brass. The pommel is a conical, fluted knib; near the lower end of the grip is bi-convex flange.
The scabbard is of wood, covered for the most part with sheet silver and silver wire binding. The metalwork was been covered at some point with a yellow lacquer. | Source: | Manchester Museum | Identifier: | mm.emu.ecatalogue.humanities.157473 | Go to resource |
