A deep, narrow groove runs three quarters of the length of the blade near the back edge. The blade has six star-shaped punch marks on the right side. these are arranged at the corners of the hexagon (see T.1303 & T.1311). The hilt is iron with short langues and short knob-shaped quillions. The pommel is disc-shaped. There is an iron finger guard running from one of the quillions almost to the pommel. The sheath is made of a single piece of black leather sewn around a wooden case. | Source: | Manchester Museum | Identifier: | mm.emu.ecatalogue.humanities.160956 | Go to resource |
