Lidded chocolate cup and trembleuse saucer made of soft paste porcelain, decorated in bleu de roi enamel and gilt. Cup only on display.
Private:
Chocolate cup, ogee shape with undulating rim and alternating concave and convex vertical flutes round upper body, plain lower body. Two ear shaped handles picked out in gilt, narrow footring. Enamel bleu de roi border round rim, with gilt edges and overpainted pattern of simple gilt leaves and white enamel pearls. Six gilt husk festoons suspended in deep loops round body. Narrow enamel blue band round footring entwined with simple gilt foliage. Shallow domed cover with fluted edge, loop handle picked out in gilt. Matching bleu de roi border with six gilt husk festoons, gilt beaded band round loop handle. Deep saucer of matching moulded ogee shape, trembleuse ring in centre providing well for cup. Decorated on upper surface with same pattern of bleu de roi border and eight gilt husk festoons. Narrow blue band round trembleuse ring with gilt foliage.
