Description: | A reproduction produced by the Vasari Society of a drawing by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot. The darkness of the charcoal and the long, sweeping lines create a bleak and windswept feel in this landscape. A small group of tall trees are the main feature, their tops bent over. A hillside rises behind these to the right, and some long grasses are blowing in the foreground of the drawing.
Text from the accompanying booklet produced by the Vasari Society:
"13.
JEAN-BAPTISTE-CAMILLE COROT
(b. 1796; d. 1875)
LANDSCAPE STUDY
Collection of Arthur Kay, Esq. Charcoal. Signed Corot. 30.2 x 46.7 cm. (11 7/8 x 18 3/8 in.).
The painting for which this study was made (if it is not an independent drawing) has not been identified, though it recalls familiar elements in many of Corot's pictures.
