Description: | White cotton dress trimmed with broderie anglaise; wide neck trimmed with narrow band of lace; bodice front in three sections, tapering muslin centre front section formed of two sections worked with diagonal bands of openwork embroidery and featherstitch alternating with drawn thread work, the outermost band continuing over shoulder round back of neck and central vertical openwork embroidered insertion; frill of scalloped broderie anglaise each side of central panel, sewn on with featherstitch and continuing over shoulder round back of neck;
back in one section each side of centre back opening, pleated to neck and at centre back to featherstitched waistband, fastening with drawstring at neck and waist, and two linen buttons and buttonholes; short puffed sleeves, gathered to piped armhole and to openwork band, headed with piping and trimmed with scalloped openwork embroidered frill;
skirt in two straight sections closely gathered to bodice and with two narrow muslin openwork embrroidered insertions alternating wtih three groups of tucks; hem trimmed with broad band of scalloped openwork.
